The Saucy Purple Salvia from the Southern Living Plant Collection is a distinctive new variety of salvia that is exceptionally heat and humidity-tolerant. This vigorous growing perennial produces beautiful burgundy-wine flower spikes from Spring into Fall. This plant is a great selection for accents, borders, container gardens and mass plantings. When planting this salvia, dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil, then leave the top of the root ball a half inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. Use a slow-release granular fertilizer in Spring.
